Self-initiated project
I designed SIDE CHANNEL as an English-language independent magazine about the physical life of digital culture. Its first issue, Offline Matter, looks at cables, worn surfaces, repair, small possessions and moments away from the display.

I wanted a publication that could sustain a sequence of pages, rather than a cover followed by repeated layouts. The design needed to accommodate readable writing, an imagined interview, object inventories, photographic essays and a typographic pause.
The screen is only one surface in a larger room. I built the issue around things that usually sit outside the frame: a connector under a desk, a polished key and a pencil mark after erasure. The opening cable returns as an editorial thread, while the closing pages widen the view to the surrounding space.
